Meet the Coach
Born in Sofia, Bulgaria before his family settled in Central New York, Lubomir Kalpaktchiev is a 25-year veteran instructor and qualifying competitor in international fencing, winning the GOLD medal eight times from 1993 to 2005 in regional and international tournaments.
Having coached at SU, as well as Colgate and Hamilton, Coach 'Lubo' is beloved by parents and former students alike, celebrated widely for his smooth disposition, approach to training, and teaching youths the fine art of fencing,

Day passes available for $30. Private lessons also available from $30 for a 20 minute session. ($50 per half hour) Contact Coach Lubo to schedule, or consider taking advantage of a full-fledged membership below!

Take I-690 to the Bridge Street exit in East Syracuse. Head away from Erie Blvd, turning left at the light, and left again after going over the bridge. We're down just a couple blocks on the corner of East Manlius and Ball Street, just above Black Sea Tattoo & Piercing.
